Legend FC Wins Olu of Agboyi Unity Cup as Oba Oladega Pledges Commitment to Tourney

The Legend FC of Oworo stole the show at the maiden edition of Olu of Agboyi sponsored Unity Cup football tournament, by emerging as the winner, through penalty kick shout-out between Agboyi FC of Agboyi kingdom, to lift the tournament’s coveted trophy.

The tournament was organized by Olu of Agboyi kingdom, HRM (Engr.) Oba Monsuru Abimbola Oladega, Akinmsa.

This is not only for competition but fostering unity across sons and daughters of Aworiland, discover and promote to International football clubs.

The Legend FC Coach Odubanjo Olawale while speaking shortly after being declared the winner, said the teams really put strong efforts and it’s a win for all in the First Edition of Olu of Agboyi unity Cup.

“Both teams really put strong efforts and it’s a win for all in the First Edition of Olu of Agboyi unity Cup,“ he said.

“It was a tough game with Agboyi FC because once met during the tournament and we expected it to be tough coming into this game. I think we put alot of efforts”

While thanking the sponsor, Olu of Agboyi and organizers of the event for a job well done, Odubanjo said the organizer should put more efforts because sport alone is an enlightenment for the youths that engaged in sport activities in the community.

“I look forward to seeing more 2022 edition of Olu of Agboyi Unity Cup,” Coach Odubanjo said.

I am elated to see our youth display skilful talents this afternoon on this pitch that has produced talented player like Baggio. Both Legend FC of Oworo and Real Agboyi FC are descendants of Agboyi kingdom.

Oba Monsuru, explained the need to douse the tension among youths in the land and foster unity across all tribes, Families, ethnicity and Compounds necessitated the setting up of the competition,1st edition.

“I also thanks the committee for their commitment and dedication for successful of this edition, While pledging the palace commitment to anything endeavor that will bring Awori sons and daughters together and Agboyirian in particular, the Olu of Agboyi, Oba MAO Oladega, said the programme will be reviewed and bring more professionals.

“I am ever willing to be part of any social and business partnership that holds opportunities to the people of Agboyi kingdom,” he said.

Today maiden edition has shown unity, harmony, Progress and peaceful coexistence amongst the youth. He assure the youths that he will review this edition and for improvement on the next edition.

Other referees that officiated matches at the Olu of Agboyi unity Cup were Sikiru Ganiu, Rabiu Abdullahi Akinyemi and Emmanuel bukunmi among others.

Monsuru Abimbola Oladega, Akinmasa1, Wife; Hrm Olori Fatimoh Oladega, Lawmaker representing Kosofe Constituency 2, Femi saheed represented by Honourable Jeje Sunday, Baale Akanimodo Alhaji Rasaki Seriki, Iyalode of Agboyi land, Mrs Jemilat Busari, Venerable Israel Owoyele, Taiwo Lamina Baale of Agboyi 2, Onikoro Family High Chief Adesegun, Prince Rasheed Durosinmi,Abore of Agboyi Land, Chief Olabisi Ajibayo, prince Adam Disu, Honourable Ogunseye Ebenezer, Radio Broadcaster, Prince Kehinde Oladega were among those that watched the entertaining matches.
