Former Chief Press Secretary to Ikosi Isheri Local Council Development Area, Ayo Idowu, has been congratulated on his appointment as the director of media to a new social-political group, Agboyi Ketu of Our Dreams (AKOUD). However, the announcement comes with a stern reminder to prioritize professionalism over brown envelopes.
In a statement issued by Kosofe Post on Wednesday, the online newspaper congratulated Idowu on his new role while emphasizing its commitment to providing services to all social and political groups without discrimination. Yet, caution was extended to the new appointees, warning against employing propaganda in their narratives, which could be counterproductive to their agenda.
The appointment comes amidst controversy surrounding an alleged attack on Agboyi Ketu LCDA Mayor Dele Oshinowo. Publisher Bilesanmi Abayomi revealed that after gathering information from multiple sources, attempts were made to contact the alleged sponsor for their side of the story, which was declined. Despite efforts to ascertain the truth surrounding the incident during the first official drive-through the new historical bridge on Agboyi Island, responses were only provided after the report went viral.
Quoting, “There are three sides to every story: your side, my side, and the truth. And no one is lying,” Abayomi emphasized the importance of timely responses to media inquiries rather than resorting to damage control amidst economic challenges.
