The Lagos State House of Assembly Committee on Local Government Administration, Chieftaincy Affairs & Rural Development, led by Hon. Sanni Ganiyu Babatunde Okanlawon, visited Ikorodu Local Government and the Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs) of Ijede, Ikorodu North, and Imota on Wednesday, October 16, 2024.

The visit was part of the committee’s routine oversight functions to assess local government performance in the state.

Hon. Okanlawon, representing Kosofe Constituency 01, emphasized that the exercise was designed to ensure accountability in the use of public funds and assess how budget resources are being utilized to meet performance targets. “We are here to guarantee that public funds are effectively and judiciously expended,” he noted.

Accompanied by other members of the committee, Okanlawon was warmly received by the chairmen of the four local government areas.

The visit is part of a broader effort by the Lagos State Assembly to monitor and promote transparency in local governance across the state.
