Former Executive Secretary of Kosofe Local Government, Hon. Gbemisola Ketiku, has raised an alarm over the deplorable condition of key roads within the local government area.
In an open letter dated Monday, October 21, addressed to the Chairman of Kosofe Local Government, Hon. Moyosore Ogunlewe, Ketiku, who is also a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), highlighted the urgent need for intervention.
Ketiku expressed concern over the worsening state of the major link roads in Araromi and Ifako, Ward C, noting that the deterioration has severely impacted residents’ daily lives and local economic activities.
“The roads have deteriorated significantly, causing loss of valuable time and difficulties in economic activities,” Ketiku wrote.
He specifically called for repairs on Williams Street, Salau Onikoyi Street, Ajayi Aina Street, Kiniun Ifa Street, and Okeowo/Fakunle Sakiru Ifako Link Road, which are vital connections to the Third Mainland Bridge and the Oshodi Expressway. “It’s essential to prioritize the repair and maintenance of these roads to ensure the well-being and prosperity of our community,” Ketiku urged.
In addition to the local government chairman, Ketiku also copied Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Hon. Ekundayo Alebiosu, Commissioner for Waterfront and Infrastructure, Hon. Sanni Ganiu Okanlawon, representing Kosofe Federal Constituency, Rep. Kafilat Ogbara, and the local councilor in his letter, seeking widespread attention to the issue.
