On Thursday, December 19, 2024, the prestigious Oriental Hotels in Victoria Island, Lagos, played host to an opulent traditional wedding as Mogaji ‘Bowale Oluwole Arisekola, publisher of Street Journal Magazine and president of the Association of Online Media Practitioners of Nigeria (AMPON), gave his daughter, Segilola, in marriage to Samuel Aisabokhae.

Segilola, a renowned travel and documentary journalist, and producer of acclaimed projects like the Michael Palin Series, brought her distinguished legacy to the union. A graduate of City University, London, and a trained lawyer, her versatility was celebrated alongside Samuel, marking the beginning of their shared journey.

The ceremony opened with pomp and prayers led by Elder Ojo and Alfa Shehu Da’ud, setting a spiritual tone for the cultural festivities. Families from both sides showcased their rich traditions, with Mogaji Arisekola leading the bride’s family and Engr. Anthony Aisabokhae leading the groom’s.

Traditional rites, including the reading of an intent letter by Monilola Arisekola, formalized the union, culminating in the couple’s exchange of rings and prayers from elders. A vibrant reception followed, featuring distinguished guests such as Dr. Olusegun Mimiko, HRM Oba Lateef Atanda Adams, and Prince Bisi Olatilo, among others.

Entertainment was a highlight, with performances from Laolu Gbenjo, Beejay Sax, and King Saheed Osupa, blending cultural and modern music. The grand celebration ended on a high note with an emotional dance session and an electrifying atmosphere that symbolized the couple’s bright future.
