Taiwo Oyero, a prominent leader of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kosofe Local Government Area, passed away on Monday evening.
His demise was confirmed by PDP ward, LGA, and state executives in a statement to KosofePost on Tuesday. Oyero, who formerly served as the PDP ward chairman in Anthony Mende Maryland, Kosofe, was reportedly rushed from his Surulere residence to an undisclosed hospital, where he passed away while receiving treatment.
The news of his death comes just days after Oyero attended the final burial ceremony of Mrs. Raheem at the Beko Ransome-Kuti Recreation Center in Anthony Village. Witnesses at the event described him as lively and full of energy, dancing and engaging with guests.
Earlier this month, Oyero celebrated his birthday alongside his twin brother, marking the milestone with joy and gratitude.
The PDP and the Kosofe community have expressed shock and sadness over the loss of a leader who was deeply involved in grassroots politics and committed to the party’s vision. Funeral arrangements are yet to be announced.
