As the July 2025 local government elections draw near, Christianah Kuboye has officially announced her candidacy for the position of Councillor in Ward A, Oworoshoki, under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Kuboye’s entry into the race marks a significant challenge to the long-standing male dominance in the legislative arm of Kosofe Local Government, which has been led by men for over two decades. Her candidacy is seen as a step towards greater inclusivity and grassroots representation in local governance.

Running under the Christy4ALL Movement, Kuboye has laid out a campaign agenda centered on community development, empowerment, and transparency. She has pledged to prioritize the interests of both indigenous and non-indigenous residents while fostering policies that promote sustainable growth.

Her campaign emphasizes the need for increased female representation in leadership, with a strong message on inclusivity and grassroots empowerment. With the slogan “No Woman, No Nation,” Kuboye is rallying support for a leadership that is diverse and people-centered.

A graduate of Political Science (B.Sc.), Kuboye is calling on residents of Ward A to support her vision for a more progressive and inclusive Oworoshoki.
