Our attention has been drawn to a misleading and utterly irresponsible publication falsely attributing a threatening political stance to the highly respected Executive Chairman of Agboyi-Ketu LCDA, Mayor Dele Oshinowo, regarding the 2027 re-election bid of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. Let it be stated categorically: this report is a fabrication, devoid of truth, character, or decency.
Mayor Dele Oshinowo is a proud and loyal ambassador of the All Progressives Congress (APC) a leader whose rise through the ranks of local government administration has been marked by service, sacrifice, and consistency. From serving diligently as Secretary to the Local Government (SLG) to winning elections as Executive Chairman in 2017 and 2021, his political journey is built on merit, not imposition.
It is, therefore, laughable and regrettable that anyone would attempt to stain his reputation with the baseless claim that he would undermine the same party that empowered him and even worse, threaten the re-election of the man he openly reveres as the greatest political leader of our time, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
The social media comments of any aide do not, in any form, represent the views of Mayor Dele Oshinowo. The chairman remains committed to the supremacy of the party, its decisions, and its structures. He understands the weight of leadership and would never lend his voice to reckless political grandstanding.
Furthermore, the attempt to link Mayor Oshinowo with the demolition of Owode Onirin market and the ancient community of odogun is false and dishonest. The issue at odogun is a land tussle between the Onikoro and odogun residents which has nothing to do with the Council or Mayor Dele Oshinowo and The chairman has consistently stood with the people Owode Onirin, engaging state and federal authorities, security agencies, and stakeholders to ensure that justice and restoration reach the affected marketer which they very much grateful for. His commitment to the welfare of his constituents has been demonstrated through numerous interventions that are well-documented and acknowledged even at the state level.
Mayor Dele Oshinowo has, for nearly a decade, led an administration that has transformed Agboyi-Ketu LCDA into one of the most progressive councils in Lagos State, with landmark achievements in housing, education, infrastructure, ICT, and grassroots empowerment.
It is worthy of note that the Ajelogo-Akanimodo Housing Scheme is a landmark success story, one made possible through a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model championed by the Agboyi-Ketu Property and Investment Board. Rather than a one-man endeavor, this initiative reflects a collaborative vision where the local government created an enabling environment to attract credible investors, ensuring sustainable development and mutual benefit. This project stands today as a testament to strategic governance and the power of structured partnerships in delivering tangible dividends to the people of Agboyi-Ketu LCDA.
It is equally important to note that Mayor Dele Oshinowo is not just a local government administrator. He is a committed party loyalist and a trusted hand in the progressive movement. He currently serves as the Director of Outreach and Endorsement for Grassroots Mobilisation for Tinubu (GMT) 2027 Re-election Project, a responsibility he carries with pride and dedication. His grassroots reach, political experience, and consistent service to the party make him a critical asset in mobilizing support for the President’s renewed mandate across communities, a beneficiary of the party himself so why would he stand against the body he’s directly benefited from?
Today, we stand on the strength of visible, verifiable progress and not propaganda.
Let it be clear: Mayor Dele Oshinowo remains a loyal foot soldier of the APC and a firm believer in the transformational leadership of President Bola Tinubu. No false narrative, no matter how desperately spun, will succeed in tarnishing the legacy of a man whose record speaks louder than words.
