Veteran journalist and political influencer, Mogaji Wole Arisekola, has been commended by former Gombe State Governor and serving senator, Danjuma Goje, for his longstanding contributions to Nigerian politics.
The commendation came during a recent meeting between the two political figures, where Senator Goje recalled Arisekola’s pivotal role in shaping political trajectories over the years.
“Wole, you deserve the best in life. You have served many people,” Goje said. “I remember that you brought so many politicians to my house—nearly all the politicians from your zone—including the current President, the current Senate President, several governors, and gubernatorial candidates.”
He further lauded Arisekola’s current achievements, stating that the media veteran is doing “fantastically well,” a nod to his sustained relevance and success beyond journalism.
Responding, Arisekola emphasized the value of service in leadership. “If you don’t serve people, you can never be served. That’s the law of life,” he said, adding a Yoruba proverb, “Ìgbẹraga ló má ń ṣáájú ìparun”—translated as “Pride goes before destruction.”
The meeting underscored the mutual respect between both men and reaffirmed Arisekola’s influence as a respected figure in Nigeria’s socio-political landscape.
