As the July 12 local government elections draw near, former All Progressives Congress (APC) chairmanship aspirant for Agboyi-Ketu Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Abiodun Ogungbo, has declared support for the party’s flagbearer, Adetola Adunni Abubakar, urging residents to vote massively for her and other APC candidates.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with KosofePost on Saturday, Ogungbo praised the performance of the outgoing council chairman, Mayor Dele Oshinowo, noting that Adetola Abubakar is well-equipped to build on his legacy of infrastructural and social development.

Describing her as a “competent and experienced administrator,” Ogungbo pointed to her current role as Supervisor for Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation in the council as proof of her readiness to deliver impactful governance.

“Adetola Abubakar has shown capacity, discipline, and grassroots connection. I have no doubt that she will advance development across our wards and improve the welfare of residents, market women, youths, and small business owners,” he stated.

He called on eligible voters in Agboyi-Ketu LCDA to come out in large numbers on election day to cast their votes for APC candidates at both chairmanship and councillorship levels.

“This election is critical for consolidating our gains and ensuring continuity of good governance. I urge all party faithful and community members to support Adetola and the entire APC team,” Ogungbo added.

The local government elections, which will be conducted by the Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission (LASIEC), are expected to test the APC’s strength across the 57 LGAs and LCDAs in the state.
