Stakeholders in Kosofe Local Government Area have thrown their weight behind calls for the establishment of an ICT hub and the upgrading of the council secretariat, describing the move as both timely and necessary.
Their reactions follow a recent KosofePost article titled “Beyond Handouts: Why Kosofe Needs an ICT Hub, Modern Secretariat.”
Community leader, Oloye Salami Oluwaseun, said the ICT hub would not only empower young people but also boost the council’s revenue base.
“The call is timely and important. Our local government needs to align with technological advancement and hasten the completion of the ICT centre for the benefit of our youths. The facility, when completed, should serve as a CBT centre within the neighborhood and generate revenue for the council, especially now that most examinations are conducted through computer-based testing,” he said.
Also speaking, Engr. Olusola Emmanuel Adedayo, MIAEng, Publisher/CEO of MoschinoBlog, welcomed the advocacy for infrastructural renewal.
“You’ve spoken well. The secretariat needs a facelift from what it’s wearing now. Also, the call for an ICT hub is a welcome development to enhance comprehensive data storage and processing,” Adedayo said.
Meanwhile, a source within the local government disclosed to KosofePost that the Chairman of Kosofe Local Government, Hon. Moyosore Ogunlewe, has already initiated steps on some of the highlighted developmental projects.
