The forthcoming All Progressives Congress (APC) congress slated for December is shaping up as a defining moment for the political trajectory of Hon. Kafilat Ogbara, member of the House of Representatives for Kosofe Federal Constituency.

Political commentator and publisher of MoschinoBlog, Engr. Olusola Emmanuel Adedayo, said Ogbara’s influence in Kosofe politics will be tested at the congress. “The way she’s moving, she will fail gallantly. The congress coming up in December will definitely define her longevity in larger Kosofe politics. If she’s able to amass a large number of ward excos and LGA chairmen, then she will solidify her stand as a power bloc. But if she doesn’t, then her re-election bid in 2027 will be threatened,” he stated.

Adedayo further argued that political interest remains the main unifying factor in Nigerian politics, stressing that the congress would determine Ogbara’s ability to withstand opposition from powerful stakeholders within the Governor’s Advisory Council (GAC).

Ogbara has recently been linked to efforts at building her own political bloc ahead of the 2027 elections—a move that has attracted mixed reactions within the APC in Kosofe. While some party members see her as consolidating her support base, others interpret her maneuvers as a direct challenge to the authority of established party leaders.

The December congress is therefore expected to be a watershed for Kosofe APC, setting the tone for both Ogbara’s political future and the wider balance of power as the 2027 general elections draw closer.
