Renowned Islamic scholar, Imam Murtadha Gusau, has announced the birth of a baby boy after what he described as two weeks of “battle and struggle” for his wife’s health at the Ahmad Sani Yariman Bakura Specialist Hospital, Gusau, Zamfara State.

In a heartfelt message shared on Thursday, October 9, 2025, Imam Gusau expressed gratitude to Almighty Allah for the safe delivery of his wife, Zainab (Maman Mus’ab), and the blessing of a healthy son, whom he named Abdurrahman — in honour of his late father, elder statesman, and respected northern leader, Alhaji Abdurrahman Okene.

The cleric reflected emotionally on the significance of the name, recalling that he lost a son with the same name two years ago. He described the new birth as divine compensation and mercy from Allah.

“If you can remember, Allah took away the life of my beloved son, Abdurrahman, two years ago. Now Allah has given us his replacement,” Imam Gusau wrote, punctuating his message with praises of “Alhamdulillah.”

In his Hausa message, the scholar thanked family, friends, and well-wishers for their prayers and support during the difficult period, praying for Allah’s blessings and guidance upon the newborn.

“Allah ya raya mana shi bisa tafarkin addinin Musulunci, amin,” he concluded.
