In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

Praise is due to Allah, Lord of the worlds, may the blessings and peace be upon our beloved master Muhammad, the last of Prophets, on his family, and all his companions.

Dear brothers and sisters! In an incredibly devastating and heartbreaking development, ISWAP terror group has confirmed the killing of the 25 Brigade Commander, Damboa, in Borno State, Brigadier General M. Uba, following last Saturday’s ambush on his convoy. This is a very sad period as our troops continue to pay the supreme price for our protection.

The Brigade Commander, M. Uba, earlier declared unharmed by the Nigerian Army after fighters of the ISWAP terror group ambushed his team along the Damboa-Biu axis in Borno State, has now been reported dead.

ISWAP terror group announced that it captured Brigadier General M. Uba and killed him. The group also shared videos and photos to prove its criminal act.

In an Arabic statement published in its propaganda newsletter magazine, Amaq, ISWAP terror group said it had captured Brigadier General M. Uba and executed him after he was interrogated.

The breakaway faction of Boko Haram terror group attached a picture collage of Brigadier General M. Uba, showing when he was in office and when he was captured.

ISWAP terror group said as soon as it received intel that Brigadier General M. Uba had escaped, a unit of fighters set out to search for him, and succeeded in capturing him on Saturday, near a village, after he was wounded.

The purported picture of his capture shows Brigadier General M. Uba’s camouflage stained with blood around his legs.

ISWAP terror group said it interrogated Brigadier General M. Uba before killing him on the spot.

Respected brothers and sisters! Indeed, our gallant soldiers consistently put their lives at risk, a sacrifice often referred to as paying “the supreme price,” to protect the security and freedoms of the Nigerian citizens. Their dedication is a cornerstone of national defense and emergency response efforts.

Colonel Dahiru Bako – Killed in an Ambush in Sabon Gari-Wajiroko axis in Damboa LG, Borno State.

Brigadier General Dzarma Zirkusu- Killed in an ambush in Askira Uba, Borno State.

Brigadier General M. Uba – Ambushed along Wajiroko in Damboa LG, Borno State.

In summary, two soldiers and two members of the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF) were killed in an ambush by ISWAP militants near Damboa, Borno State. Initial reports about the abduction of the Brigade Commander were later debunked by the Nigerian Army, which commended the troop’s gallantry and mourned the deceased.

In a separate incident in November 2025, during an operation against bandits in the Shanono Local Government Area of Kano State, two soldiers and one local vigilante lost their lives. Troops successfully neutralized 19 bandits in the encounter.

During the lead-up to the 2026 Armed Forces Remembrance Day, the Defence Minister, Mohammed Badaru, emphasised the theme “Valour, Sacrifice and Unity: Honouring Our Heroes,” stating that the peace enjoyed by citizens is secured daily through the courage and sacrifices of the men and women in uniform.

The Chief of Army Staff (COAS) has praised troops for their sacrifices and pledged improved welfare and equipment to help them tackle security challenges.

In March 2024, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu honoured 17 military personnel killed in the Okuama community in Delta State, describing them as heroes and promising support for their families and justice for the perpetrators. These events and statements underscore the ongoing human cost borne by the army in their efforts to safeguard the nation’s security and citizens lives.

Dear brothers and sisters! Also, the Nigerian Navy, Lieutenant A.M. Yarima, who recently confronted FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, narrowly escaped an alleged assassination attempt in Abuja, on Sunday evening. According to Vanguard Newspaper, the officer was trailed by armed men in unmarked vehicles but used strategic maneuvers to evade capture, deepening concerns over the fallout from his public clash with the minister.

Military sources told Vanguard that he was followed by suspected assassins who wore black and drove two unmarked Hilux vans without number plates. The vehicles allegedly trailed him from the NIPCO Filling Station off the Line Expressway to Gado Nasco Way. However, Lieutenant Yarima outsmarted them and is now in a safe location.

May Allah continue to safeguard him, ameen.

Respected brothers and sisters! What kind of nation is this please…?

The question of whether our beloved nation, Nigeria is becoming a lawless country is a subject of intense public debate and concern, widely discussed by citizens, political figures, and international organisations. While a comprehensive legal framework exists, its effectiveness is often perceived as undermined by systemic corruption, weak enforcement, and a culture of impunity, leading to significant challenges to the rule of law.

No doubt, Nigeria faces severe and widespread security issues, including extremism, terrorism, banditry, kidnappings, insurgencies, and armed gangs across different regions. The government and security agencies often struggle to curb these activities effectively, contributing to a sense of pervasive lawlessness and a lack of personal safety.

Corruption is deeply ingrained in both public and private institutions, and a notable lack of consequence for corrupt behaviour is a major issue. The perception is strong that the law is applied differently to the rich and powerful compared to the poor, fueling public frustration and cynicism about the justice system.

There have been significant instances where government bodies and officials are accused of disregarding court orders and the constitution, which critics argue poses a major threat to democracy and stability of the nation.

The failure of the justice system to hold law enforcement and government officials accountable has eroded public trust in state institutions.

The perceived absence of a functional and respected legal system acts as a significant deterrent to both local and international investment. Weak protection of property rights and the difficulty of enforcing contracts in a corrupt environment impede economic growth.

International bodies like the U.S. Department of State issue severe travel advisories for Nigeria due to crime, terrorism, and kidnapping, advising citizens to reconsider or avoid travel to certain states entirely.

Human Rights Watch has noted ongoing concerns, including cases of arbitrary detention and a lack of government commitment to upholding the law in certain instances.

Public figures and political opponents have openly described Nigeria as a “lawless country” or a “banana republic” in response to specific government actions, such as unlawful property demolitions or detentions.

While Nigeria has a formal legal system, widespread insecurity, official corruption, and selective enforcement of the law lead many to believe that the country is grappling with an increasing state of lawlessness.

Fellow brothers and sisters! The establishment of law and order is a divine injunction, and a nation becoming lawless poses an extreme danger, leading to social decay, oppression, and the breakdown of the essential protections for life, property, and dignity. The Qur’an and Sunnah emphasise that justice is a foundational moral duty and a prerequisite for peace and harmony in any society.

Islam views lawlessness as a form of “mischief in the land” (fasad), which arises from human sin and disobedience to Allah’s guidance. A state without a just legal framework quickly descends into chaos, where power, not principle, governs relations, and the vulnerable suffer the most.

Allah Almighty unequivocally commands believers to:

“Stand steadfast before Allah as witness for (truth and) fairplay” and “not let your hatred of a people incite you to aggression.”

The purpose of revealed law (Shari’ah) is to establish justice and mercy, ensuring the welfare of individuals and the community.

Islamic law is fundamentally designed to preserve five core necessities: religion, life (self), intellect, lineage, and property. Lawlessness directly threatens all these aspects, leading to the destruction of life through violence, the seizure of property, and the general breakdown of the social fabric.

Muslim believers are instructed to:

“Obey Allah, the Messenger, and those who are in authority over you.” [Qur’an, 4:60]

Provided that authority operates within the bounds of justice and divine law. This obedience is contingent upon the rule of law, not the arbitrary whims of a leader.

Islam strictly forbids taking the law into one’s own hands or engaging in vigilantism (“jungle justice”). The Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) warned against acting on rumours or unsubstantiated information, emphasising the need for due process and impartial judgment.

And a cornerstone of governance in Islam is that everyone, rich or poor, leader or subject, is equal before the law. Lawlessness erodes this equality, allowing the powerful to act with impunity while the weak have no recourse, fostering resentment and instability.

In essence, a lawless nation is a nation on the path to ruin. Islamic teachings powerfully remind us that order, justice, and accountability are not mere political ideals, but divine mandates essential for human dignity, security, and a flourishing society. True strength lies not in the absence of rules, but in the collective commitment to uphold a just legal order for the benefit of all humanity.

The establishment of law and order is a foundational principle for a prosperous and just society. A nation that becomes lawless courts chaos, injustice, and its eventual downfall, as Islamic teachings emphasise governance rooted in justice, accountability, and the common good.

A “lawless society” is a state where laws and regulations are not recognised, enforced, or respected, leading to a breakdown of order, frequent violence, and a lack of structured governance. It is characterised by individuals and groups operating outside legal boundaries, often resulting in chaos, injustice, and a disregard for the social contract. This can range from widespread corruption to a complete absence of governing authority.

Jungle justice is not justice—it is vengeance. It denies due process, tramples on human rights, and sometimes punishes the innocent. It is mob rule dressed in the illusion of righteousness. It offers instant gratification, but it erodes the very foundation of a lawful society.

We must not let our broken systems push us into the abyss of lawlessness. Instead, this should be a clarion call for reform—for a strengthened judicial process, better community policing, and renewed public trust in legal institutions. Our laws must work, and they must be seen to work—for all.

Let’s stop Jungle justice please!

Finally, rest in peace to all our gallant soldiers who paid the supreme price on the frontline. Indeed, they fought bravely to defend their fatherland. Their labour will surely not be in vain In Shaa Allah!

Ya Allah, ruin individuals or group of people, who plots to ruin the North and Nigeria.

Ya Allah, The All knower, reveal and destroy the perpetrators and sponsors behind the current spate of killings, kidnapping and banditry in our dear states.

Ya Allah, make their mission unaccomplished.

Ya Allah, You know the enemies of peace in our midst, Ya Allah, expose them and make their lives devastated and unpeaceful, the way they are devastating the lives of innocent people.

Ya Allah, forgive us and bring lasting peace and harmony to the North, to Nigeria and world as a whole, ameen Ya Hayyu Ya Qayyum!

Wassalamu alaikum wa rahmatullah wa bara ka tuh.

All praise is due to Allah, the Lord of the worlds. Prayers, peace and mercy are upon our beloved master, Muhammad, the son of Abdullah (Peace be upon him), his family and Companions.
