An aide to the Executive Chairman of Ikosi-Isheri Local Council Development Area, Princess Samiat Abolanle Bada, has circulated campaign materials announcing the entry of Dele Oshinowo into the 2027 race for the Kosofe Federal Constituency seat in the House of Representatives.
The aide, Omokeji Samuel—popularly known by his handle “Apostle of Governance”—was observed sharing video clips and text messages related to Oshinowo’s declaration across multiple WhatsApp platforms, according to monitoring by KosofePost. The widely circulated materials highlight Oshinowo’s intention to contest for federal legislative office.
Oshinowo’s declaration has continued to generate reactions across Kosofe, with several stakeholders expressing support and commending his decision to join the race under the All Progressives Congress.
Political observers note that Samuel’s public promotion of the campaign materials may indicate alignment within segments of the Ikosi-Isheri LCDA leadership. His actions are widely perceived as having tacit approval from Chairman Bada, although no official statement has been issued to confirm this.
The development has also drawn comparisons with political events in 2023, when Ayo Idowu, former Chief Press Secretary to Bada, was relieved of his duties after supporting a different candidate against the chairman’s preferred choice, Kafilat Adetola Ogbara, who eventually secured the seat.
Similarly, Bada’s current Chief Press Secretary, Rilwan, alongside others, has also been reported to have shared the campaign clips, further amplifying their reach.
