Anticipation is building across Cheshire as preparations intensify for the highly anticipated Afro Feast Carnival 2026, with organisers rolling out a vibrant street-level publicity campaign ahead of the June 6 mega event.
The convener, Amaka Lawson, alongside her team, took to the streets over the weekend, igniting excitement with Afrobeat music, dance performances, and widespread flyer distribution. The colourful activation drew attention from people of diverse nationalities, offering a glimpse of the cultural spectacle expected next month.
Speaking with KosofePost, Lawson—who is also the founder of Amaka’s Fine Food Fusion—revealed that the festival will be free for general attendees, making it accessible to all.
According to her, the event will take place on June 6, 2026, at Queen’s Park, running from 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., promising a full day of culture, food, and entertainment.
“Guests should expect fantastic street food and world-class entertainment—non-stop high vibes from start to finish,” Lawson said.
She encouraged attendees to come with friends and family, highlighting the inclusive and celebratory spirit of the festival.
While entry remains free, Lawson disclosed that VIP tickets are available for £22 via Eventbrite or £20 through direct purchase. VIP guests will have access to exclusive perks, including a private bar and dedicated facilities.
Describing the event as more than entertainment, Lawson said the carnival represents a cultural bridge.
“This is our way of showing that we are part of the community. We want to share our culture—our music, our food, and our heritage—with everyone,” she said.
She added that the recent street activation was designed to give residents a “small taster” of what to expect, assuring that the main event will deliver an even more electrifying experience.
Lawson also reminded attendees that food and drinks will be available on-site, advising guests not to bring their own.
Calling for strong turnout, she urged residents and visitors to be part of the celebration of Afro-Caribbean heritage.
“There has never been anything like this in Cheshire. It’s a community opening up to diversity, and this is the perfect moment to be part of that experience,” she said.
With growing buzz and grassroots engagement, Afro Feast Carnival 2026 is shaping up to be one of the most vibrant cultural showcases in Cheshire this year.
