Following his listing by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) as the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the Kosofe Federal Constituency, Mayor Dele Oshinowo has intensified his grassroots consultations with religious leaders across the constituency.
The Mayor Dele Oshinowo (MDO) Campaign Team recently embarked on a consultation tour of Greater Kosofe, engaging Christian and Muslim leaders as part of efforts to promote the campaign’s message of “Stronger Representation, Stronger Kosofe.”
The delegation held meetings with the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) branches in Agboyi-Ketu and Kosofe, as well as the League of Imams and Alfas branches in both areas.
Discussions focused on legislative priorities, constituency development and the need to establish structured channels of communication between elected representatives and grassroots communities.
Speaking during the engagements, Oshinowo described faith-based organisations as important partners in promoting peace, unity and social progress across Kosofe. He also stressed the importance of inclusive governance and regular consultation with community stakeholders.
“The message of Stronger Representation, Stronger Kosofe continues to move across every community, with our engagement with faith leaders across Greater Kosofe further reinforcing the growing support for our campaign,” Oshinowo said.
“Across these engagements, we shared our vision for a stronger and more effective representation for the people of Kosofe, while receiving prayers, goodwill and valuable counsel from our religious leaders. The message is clear: Kosofe deserves representation that listens, engages and delivers.”
Leaders of CAN and the League of Imams and Alfas reportedly offered prayers, shared concerns affecting their communities and commended the campaign for initiating dialogue with faith-based organisations ahead of the 2027 elections.
The campaign team said it would sustain consultations with religious institutions, community groups and other grassroots stakeholders across the constituency.
