INEC Publishes Final Candidate List for 2027 Kosofe House of Representatives Race

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has published the final list of candidates for the 2027 general elections, setting the stage for a competitive contest for the Kosofe Federal Constituency seat in the House of Representatives.

The list features candidates from several political parties, with differences in their educational qualifications, political experience and public profiles.

The candidates listed for the constituency are:

  • Olowofo Samuel of the Action Democratic Party (ADP), whose qualifications include the First School Leaving Certificate (FSLC) and Senior Secondary School Certificate (SSCE).
  • Ogunlami Opeyemi Benjamin of the African Action Congress (AAC), with qualifications listed as FSLC, SSCE and a Bachelor of Science degree.
  • Adesina Adebowale of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), whose listed qualifications include an affidavit concerning the loss of an FSLC certificate, WAEC and a BSc.
  • Oshinowo Oladele of the All Progressives Congress (APC), with qualifications listed as St. Agnes Primary School, Maryland Comprehensive Secondary School and a Master of Science degree in Risk Management.
  • Oshodi Olabode Malik of the Alliance for Democracy/APM, with a background in computer science listed among his qualifications.
  • Ajayi-Femi Ekundayo of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), whose listed educational background includes Corona Primary School, CMS Grammar School and Covenant University.
  • Adebayo Ebenezer Alade of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), with qualifications listed as the First School Leaving Certificate, WAEC/WASC and the University of Ibadan.
  • Adebanjo Rasheed Adebowale of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), whose listed qualification includes a BSc.

While some of the candidates are already known within the constituency’s political space, information about several others remains limited as political activities intensify ahead of the election.

With the publication of the candidate list, voters in Kosofe are expected to assess the contenders, their records and their campaign promises as they prepare to choose a representative for the next legislative term.
