A philanthropist, Mr. Rasheed Ogunnaike Popularly known Alhamdulahi has donated worth of 250,000 of granite to save students over neglected Eruwen Road in Ikorodu, Lagos East Senatorial District.
While speaking to our correspondent on Tuesday morning, said excruciating pains school children passing through Eruwen Road challenges informed his intervention.
He noted further that, “Tomorrow will be 15 year remembrance of my late mother. When I recalled the experience fallen victims; student had on the road on Monday, destroyed school uniforms and books informed my personal intervention to save the children going to school.”
He said his palliative of 30 tones of granite worth of 248,0000 was not sponsored by the community, government or lawmakers. He added, “the additional 90 tones will bring huge relief to the Community if other Public-spirited Persons supported for community good.”
Last weekend, when the worsen situation of Eruwen was reported the Lawmaker representing Lagos East Senatorial District, Tokunbo Abiru assured residents of government intervention.
A resident, Otunba Rasaq Ambali wrote on Kosofe Post Facebook Comment section over contractor collected the contract and abandoned it.
“Kosofe Post but they are not ghost, government should do their findings and let people know exact people that collected the contract and abandoned it. Erunwen residents has spent over #6 million to maintain this road, but just a little people can do. Government should come to our aids after all Lagos State agencies/local government staffs collect revenue in erunwen.”
The Executive Chairman of Ikorodu North Local Council Development Area Executive Chairman, Mr. Adeola Banjo, could not be reached as at the time of posting this report.
