Gbenga Ashafa May Speak for Lagos East Again if he gets Bola Tinubu’s endorsement

If he gets the blessing and blessing from the National leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and the influential members of Governor’s advisory council, Who determines who gets what in Lagos Politics and Governance.

Before Sen. Adebayo Osinowo was drafted into the the National Assembly race as it was severally reported by the Kosofe Post, Gbenga was among the Federal lawmakers promised automatic ticket for their unwavering supports to President Muhammadu Buhari’s, when the former Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki led senate almost caused the Presidency to run on a bended knees.

However, the entrance of Lagos east Jagaban, grassroot politicians, the late Osinowo, into the race truly confirmed all politics is local as the APC National headquarters implied third term in favour of Sen. Oluremi Tinubu ( Lagos East) and Sen. Olamilekan Solomon (Lagos West) was honoured but that of Sen. Ashafa (Lagos East) encountered breach of promise as Osinowo emerged through a fierce battle of life and death as both gladiators supporters sustained various degree of injury during the first inconclusive primary.

The likes of Chief Lanre Rasak, Tokunbo kamson, Primate Charles Odugbesi (Senator DG), Otunba Anifowoshe Dengel, others step down for Sen. Adebayo Osinowo to fly the party flag with the only exception of Ashafa.

Ashafa, fight on to actualise his mandate while other aspirants opt out of the october 4, 2018 primary Election.

Osinowo, been the anointed candidate of Bola Tinubu, Ashafa was later persuaded and cave in to pressure from stakeholders to allow Lagos State APC party supremacy to prevail over the choice pepper.

His loyalty and commitment to APC has never been in doubt and his performance is outstanding as captured inOUR MAN OF THE DECADE (20111- 2019): SENATOR BAREEHU OLUGBENGA ASHAFA (BOA)Although few people had some reservation about him but contributions in the National Assembly remains indelible.

if Nigerian politicians can emulate and practice how politics is been played in developed nation there won’t be any lobby by Ashafa . However, Nigeria politics is uniquely different from other spheres. It’s harder you look, the less you see.

in preparation for the Kogi State Governorship Election scheduled for 21st November 2015, the All Progressives Congress (APC) held primary elections on 29th August 2015 to choose its flag bearer. Several members of the party, including the late Prince Abubakar Audu and the 2nd respondent, Yahaya Bello, contested the said primary whereas the late Prince Audu emerged the winner while the 2nd respondent came second. The appellant herein did not take part in the primary election. Consequently, the incumbent Gov. Yaya Bello was picked in the midst of the ongoing election at the time according to Supreme Court judgment.

But in the case of Ashafa, he fully participated in the primary election if the party, APC, National Working Committee and the constituted authority in Lagos State uphold such stare decisis or legal cases Ashafa may Speak for Lagos East Again.
