Success they say magnetized different kind of friends, family.
Both Lagos State Internal Revenue, Ogun State Counterparts has not been left out as they equally asked the winner of BBNaija Season 5, Agbelesebioba Moshood Olamilekan aka Laycon to pay his tax.
The demands have since attracted mixed reactions from Nigerians; speaking for and against the Lagos State Internal Revenue jet speed in demanding for tax even before the 30 Million cash reward was presented to President of the ICONs, Laycon.
Some sees Laycon Cash reward as income generated in the state for him to pay his dues while other school of thoughts sees it as selective approach because the previous winners allegedly never requested to pay taxes after their winning.
Below are few reactions Compiled by Kosofe Post:
Aadekola Tiamiyu: “In western world where things are working, that is the norm if LIRS want to get tax from lekan they will first write to the past winners and get tax from them after that lekan will now pay his own without that I don’t think it will be possible.”
Kehinde Alade: “In other countries, the tax will be deducted from it before payment is made.”
Awofeso Rasheed: “Kehinde Alade You are right, in an egalitarian society where Government equally played their civic responsibilities to her citizens.”
Gbenga Osobu: “Isn’t it an income? It is legal for a request to be made on him to do so to give him bite and legitimacy as a law-abiding and development friendly Lagosians.
Again, it is an opportunity for his brand handlers to negotiate with LIRS on possibilities of endorsement partnership to attract more respondents to its tax net.”
Adewale Adenuga : “Is it because Lekan is a Yoruba guy that the Lagos tax authority want to collect tax from him? Let them collect taxes from the previous winners first, then they can have moral justification to collect from this young chap.”
