One of the residents of Kosofe Constituency, Mr Nuwah Abdullahi has condemned the advised given by Hon. Sanni Ganiyu Okanlawon, representing Kosofe Constituency 1, following his outburst over political leader imposition of post and candidate in their constituency.
While speaking after the Eid-el-fitr, Hon. okanlawon stated that allowing the chairmanship and councillorship aspirants to go to the field and put their popularity to the test in accordance to the tenet of democracy would go a long way in forestalling election violence or mayhem.
He stressed that the leadership of the party in the area should pay heed to the tenet of democracy as practised in the saner clime in order to enthrone a legitimate government”.
Mr. Nuwah Abdullahi noted that his advised would have been accepted wholeheartedly if he had not benefited from the same imposition he’s instigating others against out.
It would be recalled that in the build up to 2019 All Progresives Congress House of Assembly Primary Election, Hon. Okanlawon was an aspirant that would have come distanced third if Free, fair, transparent and credible primary Election were allowed to take place.
However, he emerged through imposition courtesy of late Senator representing Lagos East senatorial District, Senator Adebayo Osinowo at the expense of other suitable candidates without the endorsement of about 21 Kosofe APC Apex leaders.
Based on the forgoing, the lawmaker lacks the moral to advice, suggest, recommend to the party leaders on the pages of newspaper on how to pick candidates for the forthcoming Local Government Election because he also benefited from the same system over the years.
