“Jabez cried out to the God of Israel…enlarge my territory” (1 Chronicles 4:2

This aspect of Jabez prayer reminds him of Abrahamic covenant in Genesis 12:3. Not only that, he launched himself into the prophetic words of Prophet Obadiah that says, “But on Mount Zion will be deliverance; it will be holy, and Jacob will possess his inheritance.” (1:17). Limitation is a great problem in human race. There are certain circumstances responsible for limitation, such as family background, attack from the pit of hell, infiltrated from friends and individual may responsible for limited life.

Limitation spirit is when you are operating below the average; when a nation is very rich in natural resources but its citizens are living a wretched life. Limitation is an embargo put at the entrance of one success and breakthrough. This word of hope will liberate you and you will occupy the place of your throne.

The territory of Jabez was under the siege by the enemy, and he could not expand beyond the space that his enemy allowed him, and he wanted God to drive away the enemies out of his occupied territory. There are illegal occupants over the land of your success; you cannot grow beyond where you are because of the oppression of enemies. God will set you free in the name of Jesus Christ.

But these are the major things that you must understand. You need to know your boundary and where you want God to take you to. Jabez was not satisfied with his situation having seen where his mates were; majority had gone ahead of him despite all the opportunities around him. But he fought with devil through prayers and supplications, and said, “Oh Lord, enlarge my territory.”

Another thing to understand is to know who will take you to fulfill your life’s purpose. Mother’s spell may work for a while, but prayer can break the yoke that is beyond us. You don’t have any reasons to blame your parents, government and your friends for where you are today. The word of Prophet Daniel addresses the problem of Jabez, “Those who know their God shall be strong and do mighty exploits” (Daniel 11:32b).

Your personal encounter with God Almighty is enough to break family curses; to promote you from minimum to maximum, and to convert failure to success.

Finally, Nigeria is not too big for God to protect and to restore her prosperity. But there are enemies that have laid siege against our land. I speak prophetically that God will drive out all those that illegally occupy our territory, and we shall live in peace in Jesus name.
