An Ogun State High Court sitting in Sagamu has summoned the councillor-elect for Ward 3, Iperu Remo, in the Ikenne Local Government, Lekan Osinowo, and the All Progressives Congress over an allegation of substitution of name.

Also summoned were the Ogun State Government and the Ogun State Independent Electoral Commission.

The court summoned the defendants to appear before it on Monday, in the case of alleged substitution of names filed by the party’s aspirant, Olaleye Babatunde.

Babatunde of the APC had in the suit marked HCS/292/2021 claimed to have won the councillorship primary for Ward 3, Iperu Remo, held on May 18, 2021, but was allegedly substituted for Osinowo.

He, therefore, urged the court to reverse what he called an unconstitutional act.
