The Executive Chairman, Agboyi-Ketu LCDA, Mayor Dele Oshinowo has reiterated his administration’s commitment to identifying and nurturing young talents across the locality.
Mayor Dele made this known today at the Council Headquarters when he received victorious kids of Starlight FA, the winners of the just-concluded U-10 Wasimi Summer Competition.
The team emerged victorious in a 32-team competition by defeating Mighty Star, Abeokuta by a lone goal.
Starlight FA is a kids football club that has been continously supported by the council mayor.
Receiving the victorious kids, the chairman promised that his administration would continue to provide an enabling ground for kids to grow through sports and further rewarding them with a fertile environment for learning.
The chairman further hinted that his administration will organize another edition of the Kids Cup initiated by his administration.
It would be recalled that Anglican Primary School, Ajegunle won the maiden edition of the Agboyi-Ketu Kids Cup organized during the first term of the present administration.
On the importance of the kids cup, the chairman admitted that sports is an important ingredient to grow the economy, as it will establish another big avenue to provide job for the teeming youth.
