The General Secretary of Child Protection Network Lagos State , Rasheed Awofeso asserted that Children are abused hourly in our society.
In a chat with Kosofe Post Why are cases of domestic abuse of “house-helps” on the increase and why are most of the perpetrators Igbo women.
He wrote, “Children are abused hourly in our society. Just that most cases are under reported while most people lack information on available referral pathway or procedure. We shall continue do sensitization about it. Media too has roles to play.”
According to founder of TOS Education foundation, Tai Salvador said, “It’s been going but the people are getting better at reporting now.Very serious”.
Salvador with background in criminal justice, who has worked with the Miami, Florida Public Defender team while chatting with the Kosofe Post said she’s ready to contribute group or organization to curb the menace.
A social Commentator, Mr. Ganiu Oyebanjo wrote,” Abuses are all over the place.”
“We have been creating the Publicity and awareness campaigns among Lascota members on the need to end violence against Children. We have over 40 different professional bodies under our organization in Kosofe who help in driving the campaign, “Kosofe Regional Head Lagos State Barber, Hairdresser, Cosmetology Association (LABHCA) Oluwatoyin’ Toyas’ Adelaja.
