The Remo Stars Football Club (RSFC) President, Kunle Soname has showered encomiums on players and head coach of the club as they find their way back into the Nigeria Professional Football League.

In his speech during the special section held on Wednesday at Remo Stars Football Academy Ikenne Area of Ogun State, the founder of Bet9ja, Kunle Soname stated that the Journey has not been easy, the obstacles has been many but today we give Glory To Almighty God that we are here, we Thank Him and Give All the Glory Unto Him.”When we started this season, we promoted a lot of our junior team players, I don’t know the number but can you please raise your hand if you play last two seasons ago. We promoted 15 players from the junior to the senior team. Many people said a lot but I said no problem whatever is going to happen will happen for the fate of play. And I Thank God Today that the backbone of the team is formed by these young ones, he said.

Furthermore, he stated that these are players that have been with us for minimum 5 years right from when they were in school and we were steadfast, we kept our promise that we will always promote the junior last year, but we did not really play last year. And I also dare to say that as young as they are if they are going to kill them, cut them to pieces, eat them off as they said, you will see them playing in premier league this year because that is what we believe in, this league to us is a form of development of our club, we are not a state club, we are a privately run club and how do we get the resources to run our club is simply explore our talents abroad.
In his word, he disclosed that the club have taken out from the shores of Nigeria 4players to Portugal.
“In our partner club in Portugal, as we speak now we have like 17 of our young men in Portugal, we are talking about boys that played here for two years, three years, four years right from when they were 14, 15, we groom them when they were about 18 or 19 and we set them out to the world to go and showcase what we have taught them, that is what we stand for!
“We are not a public own, nobody can sack us, even when we relegate, we’ve been promoted twice, we really don’t care because for us this is about players development, we have inculcated that into them that this our sport and this is our we win or you lose, we have taught them to know that you rarely see our players challenge or insulting the referees, other clubs might do it but we don’t do that here because we don’t play to show off.
“I tell you, out of all the players you’ve seen here, we’ve not bought one single player out of all of them, we bring them here, we train them as best as we can, we set them out to the world and we ask God to guide them.”So I want you to congratulate these young ones, you have proven to all that this game of football is not for the small boys, we saw the game that was played while I was called by different set of people that our team played the game best. I’m very sure that not all of you will be here for a long time, many of you will definitely be traveling, I’ll urge you to be a very good ambassador to us wherever you find yourselves, you must demonstrate that we have inculcated in you for many years, I can see many people that has been with us for many years. So I want to implore you to play by the rules, it should never be win at all cost, you must try to win but you must win fairly that is the joy of winning. Winning itself is just a destination but there’s a Journey before you get to your destination, you must train hard work hard but above all you must win fairly. So congratulate you, you’ve done well, you’ve matched my expectations. I should not end my speech without talking about the protocols.

While speaking on his head coach, Daniel Ogunmodede , he said, “I met him six years ago, when he was going to join, we were looking for a head coach and I spoke with him ,I saw his zeal and passion for football and also for teaching, but I had my mind insinuated that we found a coach, I told him I said “young man I’m not going to take you as an head coach but I’m sure there is something there, if you can lower your expectations and become the assistant to the head coach I’ll take you “Because he was coming as an assistant coach for crap, so for me I think he is okay as an assistant and he said I’ll take the job as assistant to the head coach and that was how the journey started.
“Daniel became our director of the youth development probably a year later, he has traveled far and wide, he is always eager to learn, he has gone on training courses in Italy, Portugal, he is always eager to learn and so many of these young men he has tutored for years and I’m sure that if you are counting the number of players he has tutored here and they are now in Portugal they can’t be less than 10. I want to thank you Daniel, I want to thank you for your patience, steadfast and for believing in the development, you are that one that won the quick solution today, remember the day that we said in 3years so many of these guys will play in Nigeria Premiership and that’s going to happen. I also want to pray for you that wherever you find yourself, anything you touch, God in His Infinite Mercy Will Bless The Work Of Your Hand, You will be going to Portugal very soon, I pray that all they are going to teach you and what you learn there everything will work in Good for you.
Like I said I thank you very much for your steadfastness. You believe in your ability and you believe in God Crowning Effort Thank You Very Much.

He also appreciate Mrs Ogunmodede for her assistance, tolerance, perseverance and indulgence to them.
