Agboyi-Ketu holds stakeholders’ engagement against 2022 budget

The Executive Chairman, Agboyi-Ketu LCDA, Mayor Dele Oshinowo, today led top government functionaries to host the first edition of his administration second term stakeholders budget engagement, where he posited that his administration would work round the clock to improve on the LCDA’S economy through the proper utilization of the advantages available to the LCDA.

The council boss made this known at the stakeholders’ engagement in preparation of the LCDA’S year 2022 budget, held at Micmary Hall, Alapere.

The chairman further stated that the stakeholders’ engagement would be extended to the seven wards making up the LCDA, with a view to allowing more participation for the people to take ownership and shape the direction of the annual people’s budget introduced by his administration.

“Distinguished Ladies and Gentlemen, this engagement happening in the four walls of this hall is important in the budgetary trajectory of our administration, as it provides a solid foundation for us to shape our direction and affords you the unique privilege of taking ownership of our plans, policies, projects and programmes for the next financial year.”

“Although, the economic environment is laced with hiccups, but with all sense of modesty, I am pleased to report that in this second term coming, our administration would work round the clock to improve on our economy through the utilization of the advantages available to our beloved LCDA.”

“Hence, our administration has embarked on a real estate initiative, I am glad to inform you that our grassroots administration is the first to activate this uncommon policy thrust in the developmental voyage of our dear country at the local government level.”

“Under a Public-Private Partnership arrangement, the LCDA’s housing estate is highly significant, as it will increase our Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) and also open up Agboyi-Ketu LCDA to the world by using the lush-green environment the housing arena will provide to attract investors to our beloved LCDA.”

Earlier, the Special Adviser to the Chairman on Public Policy and Development, Mr. Wole said the program was in accordance with the Lagos State Government’s efforts at ensuring the dividends of democracy get to the electorate.

He further explained that the key essence of the engagement was to ensure the Mayor Dele Oshinowo led-administration knows the actual need of the people and tailor it’s budgetary provisions towards taking care of these needs.

Joining him in the session, the Head of Department, Budget, Planning, Research and Statistics, Mrs. Aminat announced to the gathering that the submission of memoranda will continue for the next 60 days, stressing that the department is ready to critically examine all shades of opinion that will help in the growth and development of the LCDA.

The program was attended by the Lawmaker representing Kosofe Constituency 2 at the Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. Femi Saheed, Alaketu of Ketu, HRM Oba Isiaka Oyero, Olu of Agboyi Kingdom, HRM Oba Monsuru Oladega, Former Commissioner, Lagos State Audit Service Commission, Hon. Abiodun Akhigbe.

Others are the Vice-chairman, Agboyi-Ketu LCDA, Mrs. Folake Kayode, Chairman, Agboyi-Ketu APC, Hon. Sunday Odekomaya, Education Secretary, Kosofe Local Government Education Authority, Mr. Tunde Soneye.
