Stop being armchair critics, Adefuye tells youths

Hon Adebayo Adefuye — Permanent Board Member – Lagos State Universal Basic Education Board, SUBEB, has urged the youths stop being mere armchair critics enjoined them to get involved in Governance.

He enlightened and broadened the minds of the participants at the one-day Leadership, Development and Values seminar organized by LGNA for youths recently at Ikeja, Lagos.

While addressing Journalists on the topic ‘leadership values and making a difference’ made All Progressives Congress National leader, Ashiwaju Bola Tinubu and Governor of Lagos, Babajide Sanwoolu as reference of what a good leadership is all about among others.

He advised the youths not to be an armchair critic, they should get involved in politics and Governance.

“When you get involved you will know what it is all about, you will look at those criticising as not knowing the full story.”

He noted that the Youth want Power, and ready for power. He was quickly to add that the youth must know why they want Power before getting the power to prevent being the worst choice.

Younger persons must make themselves ready for power with their characters as human being with wisdom, vision, innovation and creativity such as Governor Babajide Sanwoolu with the EKOEXCEL vision.

” And That vision is to ensure that the learning outcomes of our pupils is greatly enhanced and improved because this is their foundation so that they will grow up to be a great citizen and great leader Because from citizens you get the leader.”

“Ashiwaju Bola Tinubu when he was a Governor of Lagos State did a lot of fantastic things. He stood up to Federal Government even without allocation, he kept the state running. These are admirable qualities the youths should learn from and take cue from.”

He charged the Youths to know their mind power and make a difference by choosing a right model.

The Former Sole Administrator of Yaba Local Council Development Area, Adefuye speaking on his challenges as a young local government Administrator said any challenges one triggers to bring in you. He added, “When you go into Governance you must be courageous and avoid making excuses; if you become someone who make excuses you just be an excuse person, you won’t go very far.”

He charged the Youths to take responsibility, work for the people and ensure their interest is protected, and they get the best of everything.

Furthermore, he commended LGNA Managing Director Mr. Tunde Jakande for striving to give the youths knowledge and empowerment geared towards building a great leader.
