Former deputy leader and councilor representing Isheri Olowoira” Ward A” Area of Ikosi Isheri Local Council Development Area, Folashade Akinpelu has emerged as President of Female Councilors Forum, FCF, in Lagos.
She emerged during the inaugural meeting of the Forum held on Friday 25th February 2022 at Kosofe Local Government Headquarters, following the zoning of the position to Kosofe Federal Constituency.
The former president of the forum Hon. Funmi Peters while welcoming all members, she also appreciated the zealous efforts exercised by the regular members towards attending the meetings and encouraged the new ones to emulate such attitude.
Following the adoption of consensus among the forum, Hon. Folasade Akinpelu emerged as President, Hon. Mazeedat Folasade Giwa; Vice President, Hon. Feyisope Saidat Idowu;Secretary, Hon. Abiodun Odusina-Adeoye; PRO, Hon. Adebisi Adetayo; Treasurer.
Others include Welfare; Hon. Adelaja Abimbola, Legal; Hon. Barakat Bakare Akande, Organising; Hon. Sherifat Idowu Joseph, Financial Secretary ; Hon. Oluwatosin Balogun, Assistant Financial Secretary; Hon. Afolabi Busola, Assistant Secretary; Hon. Basirat Banjoko, Assistant Welfare; Hon. Wuraola Adewale, Assistant Organising Sec ;Hon. Adega Temitope, EX. Officio l;Hon. Adekoya Abiodun, EX. Officio ll:Hon. Oyindamola, EX. Officio lll: Hon. Grace Nwankwo respectively.
The positions were spread evenly across the three (3) senatorial districts of the State.
The newly elected President of FCF’s, Hon. Folasade Akinpelu expressed her profound gratitude for the honour bestowed on her by colleagues.
She thanked all members for giving her their mandate to serve them. She also seeks the support of everyone in achieving the set goal.
Furthermore, she extended her gratitude to IKosi Isheri Lcda Executive Chairman, Mayoress Samiat Bada, who sent in apology for her absence.
Most importantly, Akinpelu’s appreciated the host the Executive Chairman of Kosofe Local Government, Barrister Moyosore Ogunlewe, who in his goodwill message display compassion for the Female gender.
She also shows immensely appreciation towards the Council Chairman for granting them the usage of the Council hall for the Forum induction and also his financial support.
