The chances of the two-time People’s Democratic Party candidate for Kosofe Federal Constituency, Mrs. Sherifat Hassan, clinching the party ticket again dimmed as more aspirants joined the Kosofe House of Reps race.
Mr. Dele Aroyewun and Mr. Kunle Koya, one other prominent member of her political party, have vowed not to step down for her as they prepare to pick up their expressions of interest and nomination forms.
While a political neophyte, Mrs. Florence has also joined the contest and equally purchased her discounted nomination form as a female contestant to show seriousness about her aspiration.
Like several politicians, Sherifat Hassan has been working tirelessly behind the scenes amidst strong opposition by her party members to secure the party ticket and become the first female aspirant the party will field for three consecutive terms.
In the last general elections, in which Sherifat was fielded, she was roundly defeated by the incumbent lawmaker representing Kosofe Federal Constituency, the Honourable Rotimi Agunsoye.
