At a programme he attended in Kosofe recently, Obasa, who is currently serving as a member of the State Assembly representing Agege Constituency 1, implored political stakeholders and constituents on the need to return first-term lawmakers for another term.
While describing the duo of Hon. Femi Saheed and Hon. Sanni Ganiu as palm tree plantation processes, he gave chronological explanations of the differences between a ranking lawmaker and a first-termer.

He noted that an oil palm begins to produce 3 or 4 years after it has been planted. Literally, Obasa meant that the longer a lawmaker stays in the state and Federal Assembly systems, the more their impact will be felt and the more dividends of democracy they will attract for constituent members rather than turning into greenhorn representatives every four years.
The House of Representatives’ speaker, Honourable Femi Gbajabiamila, and the Lagos State House of Assembly speaker, Hon. Rtd Mudashiru Obasa, and several state and national assemblymen’s long stays as ranking members, have provided their respective constituencies with credible voice, development projects, and employment opportunities from government policies.
Returning first-term lawmakers who have distinguished themselves for another term will surely fast track policies, programs, and projects for the greater good of their constituents.
