Kosofe: Controversy over House of Rep primary election result

The People’s Democratic Party Kosofe Chapter’s recently conducted House of Representatives Primary Election has revealed that the coast is not yet clear for the purported winner, Florence Adegbega.

Following the amended electoral laws that prevented statutory delegates from participating in the primary election, the 30 elected ad-hoc delegates and one national leader from Kosofe were the qualified delegates to participate in the exercise.

At the end of the exercise held May 17, Florence was reported by this medium to have received 29 votes out of the 30 accredited voters.

According to Kosofe Post findings, the election result submitted by party officials led by Prof. Babatunde Akinsanya was completely different from what was obtained at the primary election venue.

The total of delegates for Kosofe was completely different from what was obtained at the primary election venue. However, the final election result submitted put the total number of delegates accredited at 33.

Florence, who earlier announced she polled 29 votes, and Kunle Koya, who had one vote, were changed to 19 votes and 14 votes, respectively.
