The former APC Aspirant in the just concluded Kosofe Federal Constituency election in Lagos State, Mr Abiodun Awokoya, popularly called Abbey CheChe has rejected the imposition of Mrs Kafilat Agbara to secure the ticket held on last Friday.

Awokoya made this known during a peaceful protest to the Leader of the APC, Sen. Bola Tinubu at his residence in Lagos on Monday.

The election which was held at the Ikosi-Isheri Local Government Development (LCDA) was conducted by Mr Fuad Oki, the Electoral Officer for the constituency on Friday.

Mrs Kafilat Agbara, the former Managing Director, National Mirror, polled 44 votes to defect his closest rival, Mrs Oluremi Odunsi who got one vote while Awokoya couldn’t secure any vote.

Speaking to newsmen, Awokoya said he was not happy because the Kosofe Federal Constituency primary election that was held last week Friday was a kangaroo election that was done.

The aggrieved aspirant decried that the election was not a free and fair one, adding that it was characterized by manipulation of fake delegates to get votes for Ogbara.

He said: “All of a sudden i was informed by my supporters at the venue of the election that was an attempt to impose Mrs Kafilat Agbara as the candidate.

“They said the instruction was from our leader, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and i don’t think Asiwaju can do such a thing because he is also running for a presidential ticket.

“To my greatest surprise all the delegates that came for the election were all fake delegates, they put a different name tag on the genuine delegate’s name, people that i know that i have sent money to them.

“One of them that I have his name says Omodeji and the tag that was put on him read Francis Temiolu, who is an old man. Another guy Ahmed Idowu that i know his number tag, another different name was put on his tag. Even the leader of Kosofe, his name is Yunusa but another name was put on his tag identity.

“This is a broad day light robbery on the youths because we paid the party to purchase the form, we mobilised the delegates for them to vote for us, we consulted the party leaders for our votes.

“On getting to the voting hall, we couldn’t even see only one delegates that had been duly confirmed by the party before the election.”

Awokoya reiterated that the kangaroo election that took place at Ikosi-Isheri LCDA, which was conducted by Mr Fuad Oki was null and void and it should be canceled by the party for a fresh election.
