Kosofe youths, women, and others protest against the imposition of the All Progressives Congress candidate for Kosofe Federal Constituency of Lagos on Thursday, June 2, 2022.
The aggrieved party members were prevented from entrance into the party Secretariat; lockdown, the ever busy Acme Road, thereby paralyzing commercial activities.
The protesters, who number over 1500, have said none of the contestants adopted a consensus arrangement.
They further requested for the Authentic delegate list elected through ward congresses and called for a House of Assembly and House of Representatives primary election in Kosofe.
Carrying placards with various inscriptions such as “Enough is enough”, “No primary election in Kosofe”, “we say no to fake delegates”, “we want justice in Kosofe, return the delegates list we voted for”, “grassroots voice is powerful, listen to us”, “We don’t want selection in Kosofe”, “Don’t give our mandate to Political Traveller”, among others, the youths and women, numbering over 1000 and dressed smartly, marched to the party secretariat, Acme, Ikeja, where they conveyed their grievances to the party Chairman.
The youths chanted solidarity songs in support of Rotimi Agunsoye, one of the contestants.

The House of Representatives Primaries Election was purportedly conducted last Friday.
Loogun Abdulrahman, Chairman of the Lagos East LGA Chairmen Forum and Chairman of the All Progressives Congress Ikosi Isheri Chapter LGA, spoke to reporters.
On Sunday Jegede said no primary election was held in Kosofe. He noted further that as at June 1, Kosofe Constituencies 1, and 2 and the House of Representatives had not been conducted.
While noting that the contestants are yet to see the delegate list, they demanded a rerun and the immediate release of the authentic delegates duely elected during the party’s congresses for a free, fair, credible, and transparent primary election to be conducted.
Also speaking, former SLG to Agboyi Ketu Lcda, Honourable Gbenga Osobu, who led a protest to the party secretariat a week ago, said the protest was triggered following delegates’ brandying around, which the party State Chairman dismissed and assured the protesters that he would make it available to the contestants once it’s available.
He, however, noted that no delegate list was released before the kangaroo primary election, no census was reached among the contestants, processes and guidelines were not announced, and no meeting was held in Kosofe to adopt a candidate, among others.
