Female councilors forum inaugurates Executives in Lagos

Her executives launched the Lagos State Female Councilors Forum on Wednesday.

The meeting room at the headquarters of Ikosi Isheri Local Council Development Area (LCDA) of Lagos State was filled to capacity.

Hon. Folashade Akinpelu, President of the Female Councilors Forum, appreciated the All Progressives Congress for giving females the opportunity to participate in the political process.

“What a man can do, a woman can do it better.”

She encouraged women in politics to see themselves as useful instruments for nation-building.

She described the forum host, Executive Chairman of Ikosi Isheri LCDa, Princess Samiat Bada, as proof that women are given more opportunities and will come out on top in delivery.

She appealed to the leadership of the party to give female members the opportunity to serve.

“We crave the indulgence of our amiable leaders in APC to include more women.”

She further noted that 35% of women’s affirmative action is yet to be achieved. However, he assured the gatherings that with cooperation and oneness, among others, the goal would be attained.

“I urge all our women to work harder to ensure that APC wins all elections at all levels in the 2033 general elections.”

Also speaking at the event, the host chairman, princess Samiat Bada, said women’s contributions in politics can not be overemphasized, stressing that if given the opportunity they will render creditable performance.

She urged women to continue doing their best to propel Nigeria to greater heights.

While drumming support for the party’s Presidential Candidate, Ashiwaju Bola Ahmed, Governorship; Babajide Sanwoolu, Lagos East Senatorial; Sen. Adekunbo Abiru, House of Reps; and House of Assembly candidates across the state, she urged Lagosians to collect their permanent voters’ cards (PVCS) in preparation to cast their votes for them.

Some of the dignitaries that attended the event were the Ikosi Isheri LCDA Chairman, Princess Samiat Bada, and cabinet members; the Leader in Council of the Legislative Arm of Ikosi Isheri LCDA, Hon. Yunusa Salami, and colleagues; council senior management; former and current members of the female councilors forum in Lagos, among others.

  1. Good talk ,just needed more support and encouragement to we women in politics, because if you build a woman you ve build a nation.
