The Executive Chairman of the Labour Party (LP) in Kosofe Local Government Area, Ifade Olusegun  has dissociated the leadership of the party from today   inauguration of the party in Lagos State by certain unknown persons.

The party, in a disclaimer signed by the chairman of the party, Ifade Olusegun  said the proposed inauguration of the officers of the party in Lagos State was unconstitutional, null and void.

The LP said the good people of Kosofe local government and Nigerians in general should be aware of the antics and dirty politics of some moles and party hijackers in the Labour Party.

“This is to inform the good people of Kosofe, stakeholders, INEC and everyone residing or doing business in Kosofe that there is a constitutionally constituted executive of the Labour Party in Kosofe Local Government which has been saddled with carrying out the statutory responsibilities of the party with the state chairman from the local government to the state level as led by Prince Prof. Ifagbemi Awamaridi, who with other state chairman, national officers and stakeholders midwifed the birth of the Presidential Aspirant of the Labour Party – HE. Peter OBI

“It is in line with the above reality and fact that we are shocked that some political jobbers from APC & PDP and their agents within the Labour Party have been trying to hijack the Labour Party in Lagos State based on their sponsor and are planning to inaugurate illegal excos in the Labour Party for Kosofe local government in Alausa on Monday, September 26th, 2022 as they have been trying unsuccessfully in other local governments in the State.

“We want the public to refrain from these hijackers because all the 10 wards of Kosofe local government in the Labour Party are constitutionally constituted with each having their Excos.

“Thank you very much as we will continue to inform the public about any further antics from these hijackers that are hell bent on weakening the Labour Party and, by extension, the candidacy of all Kosofe Candidates down to the State and Presidential Candidate-HE. Peter Obi.”

He urged members of the labour party to be vigilant while continuing to move the party forward.
