Another member of the All Progressives Congress ( APC), Osikominu Akinwande, and Moruf Adeleye have separately emerged as Labour Party and Social Democratic Party candidates for Kosofe Constituency 1 &2 Lagos State House of Assembly races for 2023 election.
The Kosofe Post reported that Osikominu had attempted the constituency seat several times but was unsuccessful in clinching his party ticket.
While Adeleye was an immediate councilor in Ikosi Isheri’s Shaginsha Magodo area, he ran for a state assembly ticket in Oyo State before becoming an SDP candidate.
Osikominu, convener of the Save Kosofe group, and Adeleye were members and House of Assembly aspirants under APC like Lanre Carew, until their names appeared on the Independent Electoral Commission published list on October 4 as Labour Party and Social Democratic Party flagbears, respectively.

The trio of Osikominu of LP, Carew of SDP, Gabriel Awoaje of PDP will be battling the incumbent lawmaker, Hon. Sanni Ganiu Babatunde, who is seeking a second term on the platform of APC for the soul of Kosofe constituency 1 in the March 2023 election.

While Adeleye of SDP, Jide Bakare of NNPP, and Adeyemi Hammed of LP will jostle with the incumbent lawmaker, Hon. Femi Saheed, who is seeking a fresh mandate on the platform of APC for the Kosofe 2 seat in next year’s election.
