The New Nigerian People’s Party candidate for Kosofe constituency 2, Jide Bakare, has joined the world in mourning the passing of the quintessentially British Queen Elizabeth II.

Queen Elizabeth II, Britain’s longest-reigning monarch and a symbol of stability in a turbulent era that saw the decline of the British empire and disarray in her own family, died on Thursday after 70 years on the throne. She was 96.

Bakare grieved with the royal family on Friday through a condolence message made available to the Kosofe Post.

He said, “Adieu to the Quintessential Queen Elizabeth II of England, 1926–2022. I join the rest of the globe, and in particular the British Royal Family, in mourning the peaceful passing away of HM Queen Elizabeth II. This is truly the ‘End of an Era’ for a monarch that witnessed 15 British Prime Ministers over 7 amazing decades!

“Her memories from her 96 colorful years will undoubtedly linger, and we hope that they will bring more beautiful rainbows of love and peace over the nations of the world.”
