The Lawmaker representing Kosofe Federal Constituency Hon. (Prince) Rotimi Agunsoye, has once again empowered another set of Constituents with entrepreneurial tools worth over 50 million naira.
The distribution of the entrepreneurial tools was done on Friday at the Magodo constituency office of the lawmaker with items such as grinding machines, Chest Deep Freezers and cam gas cookers doled out to intended beneficiaries across the Constituency.
The empowerment programmes came barely three weeks after the Lawmaker empowered 350 constituents with about 30 million naira in catering and fishery Value Chains.
In his address, the lawmaker who is the Chairman House Committee on Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) said, the empowerment scheme was in fulfilment of his campaign promises aimed at engaging them in meaningful productive endeavours.
While reminding them of a series of empowerment programmes he had undertaken to better the lives of the Constituents, he assured them of his continued efforts at impacting their lives positively before and after the end of his tenure.
He further announced that some solar-powered borehole water systems and transformers would be installed in strategic locations of the Constituency.
Meanwhile, beneficiaries of the empowerment tools expressed appreciation to the Lawmaker for his kind gesture.
A beneficiary of Chest Deep Freezer, Mr. Rilwan Adewale Isabajo expressed appreciation to the Lawmaker for the kind gesture, describing him as a great Leader mentor and friend.
He said: “I will like to say a very big thank you to Hon Prince Rotimi Agunsoye MHR for being the greatest leader, teacher, mentor, and friend. You’re one of the greatest people I’ve had the pleasure of working with, and I am so grateful for your thoughtful gift. It means the world to me, I appreciate all you do and for thinking of me! Your gift means the world.
I am humbled and honoured to have been selected to be among the lucky beneficiaries. To my party chairman, chairman, Energetic Youths, All ward F members, and the entire media team, thank you, thank you, thank you. I won’t let you down”.
Another beneficiary of Chest Deep Freezer, Prince Ademola Akinboro, expressed appreciation for being selected as a beneficiary and described Hon. Agunsoye as a great leader and mentor that puts the interests of his people on the front burner.
“I am so happy to appreciate my honourable leader, ROT for this wonderful empowerment that was executed today. Thank you ROT for the numerous gifts given to us all, I was a beneficiary and I can say you are a leader and a great mentor who puts his people in his heart. Thank you ROT and I pray you keep doing exploits in the whole of APC Kosofe Constituency and beyond. Thank you again”: Akinboro remarked.
The Promise Keeper, as the Lawmaker is fondly called by his admirer, also used the opportunity of the empowerment program to raise awareness of the negative effects of climate change.
Dr. Dayo Olajide of the Climate change initiative was at hand to educate constituents on the causes of climate change and its effects on the overall health and well-being of the people.
Dr. Olajide attributed climate change to bush burning, deforestation, indiscriminate dumping of refuse in public drainages and emission of chemical substances into the air among others.
She, therefore, advised people to cultivate the habit of planting trees in their surroundings and the use of energy substances and materials that are not inimical to the atmospheric air to ameliorate the effects of climate change.
