The All Progressives Congress candidates (APC) in Kosofe on Tuesday continued electioneering campaigns as they consulted clerics, traditional leaders to solicit for their blessings and supports for 2023 general elections.
The APC’s candidates lead by Kosofe Federal Constituency flagbearer, Hon. Kafilat Ogbara and Kosofe Constituency 1, Hon. Sanni Ganiu Okanlawon, among others, consulted the Kosofe League of Imam and Alfas, Christian Association of Nigeria and Ologudu of Ogudu.
The APC’S candidates were accompanied in the entourage by Kosofe Local Government Chairman, Mr Moyo Ogunlewe and cabinet members, Kosofe legislative arms members led by Idowu Oluloro,
Among others are the APC Assist. State Secretary, Jumoke Animaun, Former Kosofe Local Govt, E.S, Gbemisola Ketiku, APC LGA Chairman, Kehinde Belo, Musiliu Aigoro, Ibrahim Mustapha, Rabiu Olayinka and Kosofe CDC Chairman, Segun Babatunde and hundreds of supporters.
Commenting, the Assistant State Secretary, Animaun said Muslim-Christians are inter-related and issue of religion does not arise in Kosofe.
While canvassing for the candidates of APC, Animaun appealed to youths on social media to get involved in the electioneering campaign at the grassroots.
She said: “The issue on ground is not about Obedient, but it is reality because only Ashiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu is the only candidates that is competent and capable to move the country forward.”
While speaking with the community stakeholders, Okanlawon who was the former Special Adviser to Lagos State Governor on food Security explained the role he played in the birthed of the famous lake rice.
He noted further that when the Imota Rice was finally completed 200,000 direct and indirect labour would be engaged.
According to him,”He facilitated the construction, rehabilitation, resuscitation of link Bridges, pedestrians bridges and road networks across Kosofe.
Okanlawon, a first term lawmaker, who presently had two bills and several motions to his credit said he also facilitated the nearly completion of the First Ultra Modern Fire Service Station in Kosofe.
The Kosofe Post reports that employment, Scholarship and empowerment, were among others, the Lawmaker personally sponsored programmes by the Lawmaker for his constituents.
While appealing to the Kosofe League of Imam and Alfas, Christian Association of Nigeria and Ologudu of Ogudu during the separate consultations ahead of campaign flag-off, he urge the community stakeholders to vote Ashiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu as President.
The lawmaker also appealed them to vote Sen. Adetokubo Abiru as the Lagos East Senatorial District senator and Kafilat Ogbara for Kosofe Federal constituency in the next year’s February election.
Other include Babajide Sanwoolu and Kadiri Obafemi Hamzat as Governor, Deputy Governor of Lagos and Sanni Ganiu Babatunde as member representing Kosofe Constituency 1.
Speaking, Ogbara on the occasion of the visitation at Ologudu Palace thanked Lagos traditional leaders for their unwavering supports since the advent of the South-West Agenda for Asiwaju (SWAGA).
Ogbara noted that the SWAGA was a political movement that kick-started massive mobilisation towards actualizing Tinubu’s presidential ticket.
She noted that all palace’s in the state was Home to Ashiwaju Tinubu, Babajide Sanwoolu, Kafilat Ogbara and All Progressives Congress candidates.
She appealed to traditional leaders to ask their subjects to vote massively for APC as tool of attracting massive developmental programmes and projects for the people of Kosofe and Lagos State.
The Kosofe League of Imam and Alfas Christian Association of Nigeria, and The Ologudu of Ogudu land,Oba Nojimu Akinwunmi Fashola offered APC candidates special prayers as they set to hit the streets canvassing for votes.
Earlier, Okanlawon and other candidates had visited the Oloworo of Oworo, Oba Muhammad Babatunde Saliu, Elebo 2 for royal blessings.
