SEE: Lagos East: Eruwen road is important to us- Senator Tokunbo Abiru

Speaking at the official flag-off last Saturday, he said: “We are here to flag off. A month ago I came to address the residents of this community. The road is about 3.3 kilometers long, and we promised them we would come back within a month to flag off the commencement of this road.

“Last week I went to see the Governor to inform him about this flagging off; he is also well informed about what we are doing, and I heard them say something about the transformer; he is ready to support what we are doing. We are here to flag off the road; we thank God all things are going well. We should be able to complete the road between four and five months.

“All things being equal, and with the residents being corporative, we have done it before; we completed the road. The full payment is already on the ground. I expressed my misgivings about them earlier; if they live up to expectations by Easter, this road should be complete.

“It’s election season, and the voting turnout from Eruwen is always low, so we want to bring development to them, and we want them to react to us positively. So let us see what they have in store for us; if they turn out well, the government too will be interested, so also the senator and the House of Representatives are listening because the constituency falls under them. The councilor is also to ensure we give Eruwen a first-class facility.”

Residents commend the lawmaker, who has been facilitating the construction and rehabilitation of several across Ikorodu.

Reacting, a resident of Eruwen during the week said they’re grateful while commending the representation of Lawmaker across Ikorodu without discrimination.

She implored the lawmaker to monitor the total execution and implementation of the road project to prevent shady jobs again and ensure timely completion according to the delivery schedule.

Speaking further, she pleaded with residents, business owners, and motorists to take ownership of the developmental projects by giving the contractors the maximum support required.
