The Executive Chairman, Kosofe Local Government, Barr. Moyosore Ogunlewe has commended the good people of the council for their individuals and collective efforts in contributing to the realisation of its mandates in the 2022.
Ogunlewe made this known in his New Year message issued in Lagos on Sunday.
The council boss explained that the year 2022 was filled with various landmark achievements, which would not have been possible without their dedication and commitment to this great local government.
He said: “I congratulate you all for witnessing the end of the old year, 2022, and the beginning of the new year 2023.
“I would like to wish you all a Happy New Year, and the encompassing spirit of hope and vitality which each New Year brings.
“Firstly, I would like to acknowledge the good people of Kosofe Local Government for their individual and collective efforts in contributing to the realisation of the council’s mandate.
“It was a year filled with various landmark achievements, which would not have been possible without your dedication and commitment to this great local government.
“Looking ahead, 2023 should reflect a radical change in focus and attitude through a marked commitment to the council’s core values.
“These values include:- fostering teamwork, innovation, networking, tolerance and a culture of peace, embracing excellence, transparency and accountability, practicing professionalism.
“Others values include meritocracy, equality, integrity and social justice, maintaining self-respect, discipline, responsibility, continual improvement of services in order to remain competitive and relevant.”
Ogunlewe noted that these values should be the common aspects that inform the execution of their duties as they strive to deliver on their mandate in 2023.
According to him, please note that the council’s mandate provides numerous opportunities for personal and infrastructural growth and development.
The council boss said it was up to them to interpret their mandate to their varied stakeholders as he encouraged them to partner with the local government to advance its objectives.
Ogunlewe said its efforts in technology development, incubation, transfer and commercialisation would become the basis of its very existence, and the reason for their success.
He urged each and every one of them this year to make that tangible contribution as they continue with their efforts to develop the local government .
The council boss said he was optimistic and hopeful that they shall stand behind him in all his future endeavours.
Ogunlewe thanked the good residents of the council for whatever their responsibility; however great or small, they share a love for this local government .
He said along with all the new hopes and promises that the New Year would bring, he hoped it also bring them a lot more opportunities to work together.
