A group called the Sanwoolu Ambassadors (SA) has taken a sensitization campaign to the Bakare Belo market as the 2023 general elections approach.

The group led by the SA Director General, Hajia Tai Elemosho Okesanjo, accompanied by Kosofe Coordinator Rasheed Awofeso and others, sensitized the market women and men on Tuesday; afterward, the group proceeded on a road walk sensitization in the Ifako gbagada area of Kosofe.

Speaking on behalf of the market women, the Baba Oloja general of Agboyi Ketu, Alhaji Suilamon Adeyemi, declared their unwavering support for the All Progressives Congress and its candidates.

He assured the group of the massive mobilization of the market women and men for the actualization of Ashiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s mandate as president, Babajide Sanwoolu as Governor of Lagos State, among others.

He said, “We have warned that any traders who work against the market people’s choice will be evicted from the markets across Kosofe.”

However, the market people decried the punishment the representatives of the ruling party subjected their big and small markets to after winning elections.

He further appealed to the delegation, saying that when the party emerges victorious, they shouldn’t forget them.

“We have graduates at home; they should also extend employment slots to us. We Baba Oloja’s and Mama Oloja’s are the ones still responsible for our graduates’ children’s feedings,” Alhaji Suilamon Adeyemi said.

Sanwoolu Ambassadors DG Hajia Okesanjo, while speaking to the Kosofe Post, said the group has moved from a door-to-door campaign to an outdoor one.

He said, “We are in the Bakare Belo market. In order to do our outdoor campaign, we were going door-to-door before. Now we are doing our outdoor campaign for Babajide Sanwoolu’s re-election in March 2023 and Ashiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s election in February 2023. It’s a priority for us to make sure they win; we know they are going to win based on the antecedents of what we have been seeing and how they have performed, but we will want them to win by a landslide victory.

“We want Ashiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu to win by 50 million votes in Nigeria while Governor Babajide Sanwoolu wins by 5 million votes in Lagos. We have over 7 million registered voters in Lagos State; it is not too much for Sanwoolu to win by 5 to 6 million votes; that’s why we are going around,” she said.

She noted that they had a fruitful discussion with the market women, and their demands are noted. Adding that it will be taken to the leaders of the party and concerned authorities.

“APC is what will make you happy. Now, we want to vote for someone who knows the road, Ashiwaju.”

According to her, “APC is the only party that is going to make Nigerians happy, noting that Ashiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu is capable and intelligent enough to put an end to many issues affecting the country when elected.

“Ashiwaju will correct it. This is the first time we are going to have a Yoruba man as president. We are going to see the performance of a Yoruba president because Obasanjo is not a Yoruba man; he came through the military. This is the first time we have had a Yoruba president in Nigeria.”

She appealed to the market women to go out on the day of the election to cast votes for the All Progressives Congress. “If you don’t vote, you can demand for things,” Sanwoolu Ambassadors DG said.
