Pastor Mrs. Dorcas Adetoun Olaleye celebrated her 80th birthday in style on January 28.
The 80-year-old entertained friends, family, and church members to a lavish feast at Kosofe, Lagos’ famous Hadassah event place. Dignitaries from all walks of life attended the event, adoring the teal, green, and peach color code to honor the octogenarian.
With names like Mr. and Mrs. Kunle Hamilton, Chief and Chief Mrs. Jide Taiwo, Pastor Dr. Samuel Adekunle, Dr. Segun Adaju, and Prince Femi Niyi among the prominent dignitaries present,
Dr. Olalekan and Abiola Abdul, Hakeem and Shola Durotoye, Lekan and Pharm Yinka Lekuti, Suraju and Kehinde Salaudeen, Mujeeb, and Taiwo Oyededeji, Publisher of Kosofe Post, as well as Abayomi and Mojisola Bilesanmi, were also there.
Mama Dorcas’ citation, Ijebu Osasa Cognmen’s cultural dance, and a chanter entertained the celebrant and the dignitaries.
The celebrant, who was a former school teacher, was described as a “disciplinarian,” a religious, blunt, caring, loving, and humanist grandmother by family and friends.
The visitors were impressed by the octogenarian as she performed the customary cake-cutting.
The celebrant’s son, Lanre Olaleye, while speaking to the Kosofe Post, offered glory and honor to Almighty God for the landmark achievements of their mother.
He said, “I thank God for her successful 80th birthday for our dear mom. I am wishing her a long life in good health and sound mind.”
He thanked his siblings, family members, and friends who traveled far and near to celebrate the landmark achievements with them. “And I pray that we will all find peace and love all around us,” Lanre Olaleye prayed.
The appearance of the celebrant, Pastor Dorcas, and the children and grandchildren at the reception location and their dance to fash melodies was a highlight.
The dignitaries from home and abroad were given a memorable special treat after the party.
