The Chief Imam of Likeminds Estate Mosque, Abdulrahman, has declared that sexual intercourse at night during Ramadan is permissible. He made this declaration during Jumat sermon last Friday in Ikorodu, Lagos, Nigeria.

The Imam explained that this ruling is clearly stated in the Qur’an, which permits a husband to have sexual intercourse with his wife at night during the holy month of Ramadan.

Imam Abdulrahman also urged married couples not to starve themselves during the fast but to mutually agree if they should postpone sexual intercourse to make a special request from Allah. He emphasized that Muslims should not be tempted to have sex during the fast, but should go to the mosque and make supplications rather than staying in an environment that may lead them to sin.

The Imam also spoke about the exemptions from fasting, which include children who have not reached puberty, the elderly, those who are physically or mentally incapable of fasting, pregnant women, breastfeeding mothers, and travelers. He urged Muslims to increase their acts of Ibadah and to do away with sinful acts during this holy month.

Imam Rahman called on Muslims to be cheerful givers, emphasizing that Prophet Muhammad was a generous person, especially during the month of Ramadan. He urged Muslims to give to those in need, no matter how little they possess. He added that buying fruits for people to break their fast in the mosque is a way to be rewarded by God.

The Imam’s message was well-received by the Muslim community in Likeminds Estate Mosque, with many expressing gratitude for the clarity of his teachings. It is hoped that this message will be shared widely to help Muslims understand the teachings of the Qur’an and live according to its principles.
