Agboyi Ketu LCDA Chairmanship Aspirant, Oluwafemi Opabola, has congratulated the Muslim community in Agboyi Ketu on the occasion of this year’s celebration of Eid-el-fitri
In a press statement released in Kosofe on Thursday, Opabola urged Muslims to use the opportunity of this year’s celebration to pray for the unity, peace, and development of Nigeria as President-elect Ashiwaju Bola Tinubu prepares to be sworn in on May 29.
“We rejoice with the Muslim community as they celebrate the Eid-el-fitri festival. We call on them to use the occasion to continue to live up to the tenets of their faith through acts of Ibadah, peaceful co-existence with their neighbors, and obedience to the injunctions of the Holy Quran,” Opabola said.
He also urged Muslims to make moderation their watchword as they celebrate the global occasion and to be mindful of the lessons of dedication and obedience to higher authorities as demonstrated by Prophet Ibraheem’s willingness to sacrifice his son in deference to the will of God.
Opabola noted that the season is a time of charity, peace-making, and forgiveness, adding that “we must use this season to remember to fend for the poor and the needy in accordance with Allah’s injunction to be our brother’s keeper.”
The chairmanship aspirant wished all Muslims a happy Eid-el-fitri celebration and promised to continue to promote social, economic, and political engagement, good governance, and peaceful co-existence among all faiths in Agboyi Ketu LCDA.
