Hon. Rotimi Agunsoye, Member, Kosofe Federal Constituency in Lagos state, Nigeria has commissioned an 80-bed ultra-modern primary health care facility in Kosofe.

The facility is the first of its kind in the state, and Lagos State Governor, Gov. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, who was represented by the state’s Commissioner for Health, Prof. Akin Abayomi, described it as a facility that qualified for a general hospital.

Sanwo-Olu said the state government would ensure that the facility is equipped with modern equipment and health programs that will bring healthy children and healthy adults to the state.

He added that the state government would decide if the facility would be the biggest primary health care center in the state.

The commissioning of the facility coincided with Hon. Agunsoye’s 61st birthday, and it was an opportunity for him to render an account of stewardship. Before the commissioning, patients who required more extensive treatment than what the facility could provide received referrals to the Lagos State teaching hospital.

However, the new facility is expected to provide adequate primary health care treatment to every patient that uses it.

Hon. Agunsoye, who donated an equipped ambulance to the Ameso Hospital, expressed gratitude to the Lagos State Government through the Chief Medical Director of LASUTH, Prof. Adetokunbo Fabanwo, and his predecessor, Prof. David Olawale Oke, for always coming to their rescue.
