Apapa Local Government seeks Ireland’s assistance for improved education, environment

Ireland Ambassador to Nigeria, H. E Peter Ryan, has been asked to help improve education and the environment in the Apapa Local Government area of Lagos, Nigeria.

The request was made by the council Executive Chairman, Hon. Idowu Adejumoke Senbanjo, during an LGNA International Programme attended by the ambassador.

Senbanjo said that she would like the ambassador to assist the council in the capacity building of its primary and secondary school teachers.

She added that the council needs more schools and wants to bridge the gap between private and public schools.

Senbanjo also sought the ambassador’s help to improve the environment in the area, especially with regards to climate change.

The Irish Ambassador assured the council that his doors are open for partnerships and collaborations, adding that he will be visiting other suburbs in the state.
