The rainstorm wreaked havoc on Pastor Adegboyega Primary School and Ikosi Primary School, both schools under Kosofe Local Government Education Authority. The two affected Local Council Chairmen separately visited the schools under their jurisdiction to assess the level of damages done for quick renovation to ensure a conducive learning environment is provided for pupils and staff.

The Kosofe Post reports that in 2019, Mayor Dele Oshinowo led administration embarked on a comprehensive renovation of the dilapidated Pastor Adegboyega Primary School in Ketu. However, the effect of the rainstorm completely carted away the school roof, prompting the Council Chairman to visit the school to get first-hand information in anticipation of the LCDA’s intervention to reroof the school building.

Speaking during the visit, Mayor Dele Osinowo expressed his sadness over the incident, promising to ensure that the affected schools are quickly renovated to provide a comfortable learning environment for the pupils.

Princess Samiat Bada also expressed her sympathy and promised to liaise with the state government to ensure that the affected school under her jurisdiction is renovated as soon as possible.

The Kosofe Post further reports that the affected schools are in dire need of renovation, as the roofs of several buildings were destroyed by the rainstorm, leaving the pupils and staff vulnerable to the elements.

The Council Chairmen promised to ensure that the schools are quickly renovated to enable the pupils to continue their education in a safe and conducive environment.
